new Trolley stops across the street to take you to the market for a nominal fee..

Come and spend some time with Lyn and  her pets in her historic Charleston home, which is home as well to a previous owner’s daughter, Sarah. Formerly, the Pinkussohn House, home to a wealthy tobacco baron,

the house was once five stories with widow's walk. Many years ago a fire destroyed the top floor and caused Sarah's death. Not to worry, Sarah is a most friendly ghost, sometimes too much so........

<>The guest house has ten bedrooms and is located in the old, historic, downtown residential area of Charleston. From the house it is a short, interesting walk to historic sights, restaurants and shops. For tours and many other activities, Lyn and Norm will be glad to help you with any reservations or questions you might have.
We strongly recommend touring the city with a Charleston tour guide; Ed Grimball or one of Charleston's most knowledgeable tour operators Talk of the Towne mini bus. For more information on either great tour visit their web sites.   Relax and enjoy a private in-room massage by Stephen, just ask Lyn to schedule this for you. She can personally attest to a great experience.

Make plans now for Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years!

We offer complimentary wireless Internet.
(Cannot guarantee access however)
If it is mandatory - ask us first !!

The trolley stops at the corner now and you can ride it around the historic district and to the market area for dining and shopping. $1.50 or .75 for 55+. Daily and multi day passes available.

Your Host:

Lyn is the owner of the Rutledge Victorian Guest House. Lyn has been collecting Victorian antiques for over twenty years. Some of the antiques in the house have been passed down through Lyn’s family, others have been found throughout the Midwest. .  Lyn made her home for many years in the Kansas City area.

One of Lyn's favorite hobbies is reading, so she has made sure there are many quiet, relaxing areas to unwind.

Meet the owners well behaved pets, Ell-e, Liv-e, Max and Bella, don't overlook Morris, Mollie, Mitzi and Abbie, the abandoned kitties Lyn took in. Not to worry, the pets are not allowed in the bed & breakfast.
